36 days and counting....

36 Days to go and this is what I feel like.

It probably doesn't help that I get comments on almost a daily basis that I don't even look pregnant. What!??!!! So are they saying I just look like I've put on a few pounds? Oh I'm confused. I'm trying to tell myself it's a compliment. That I'm a month away from giving birth and still look just fabulous :) We won't mention that pretty much NOTHING fits anymore and I have been resigned to wearing the same pair of jeans over and over. Nor we will talk about the raging appetite I have some days- its unbelievable! I can't tell you how many nights I've woken up starving. Cereal and graham crackers with frosting seem to be the two things that sound the best at midnight. As I lay in bed and eat them (I know terrible) I always seem to find something fabulous on QVC and have had to hide the credit card to keep from making some potentially fabulous purchases. Russell has woken up a few times and saved me as well :)

I feel like I've been pregnant forever but at the same time can't believe I only have 36 days left (or less should he come early!) Wow! I'm going to be a mommy soon. Not sure I'm ready for this! But I am ready to not be pregnant anymore and I'm sure meeting him for the first time will make it MORE than worth it!

Grandpa's Funeral

What a sad day! I almost felt bad taking pictures- but I knew that I wanted to remember this day. It was a sad day but also a day of happiness. We are so blessed to know that families are forever and that we will see Grandpa Pete again one day. One nice thing about events like this is seeing all the family. It was nice to spend time with everyone and reminisce. The viewing was held at McDougal Mortuary and there were so many wonderful friends and family that came to pay their respects. It was evident by the long line of people that Grandpa touched many people's lives. There were also so many that showed up for the viewing before the funeral and also to the funeral- it was so great to have so much support.

*Josh, Carlye and Jacob*

*Travis, Sadi and me*

*Russell and I*

The funeral was just as Granpda had requested. All six of his kids spoke and they all did such a great job- granpda would have been proud. The grand kids sang his favorite song- Army of Helaman - and surprisingly held up pretty well through all 3 verses :)

Grandpa was buried at Valley View cemetary next to Grandma Fern and Bev. It started to rain at the cemetary but luckily didn't get too bad till we were back at the church eating.

We love you and miss you!

Grandpa Pete

Even as I write this- a few weeks later it doesn't seem real. I am still not sure when it will really "hit" me that it's happened- but my sweet Grandpa Pete passed away on May 13th.

Grandpa Pete passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. I can only imagine the glorious reunion in heaven with so many family members. He is finally with my grandma after 18 years and with my step-grandma after 3 years. Though I know he is in a happier place it's still hard to deal with the fact that he is gone. I was so lucky to have had almost 30 years with him and so many memories I will cherish forever. Here are just a few:

*Horse rides on the mechanical horse at Grandpa's pharmacy

*Treats from the pharmacy and creamsicles every Sunday when we went to their house

*Getting caught in the "bear trap"

*Grandpa always asking where your coat was (even when it was plenty warm to be without one!)

*His hat collection and how he wore his hat placed just on top of his head- "grandpa style"

*Annual trips to Bear Lake and snowmobiling (and the fabulous bathtub sled he made for us!)

*Taking us grandkids fishing and baiting the hook since we thought it was so gross and removing the fish if we were lucky enough to catch one! (the girls anyway)

We will miss him terribly but know that he is in a better place. Grandpa was such a great example and lived such a great life. He was so strong in the church and had such a strong testimony. He touched the lives of anyone who knew him. Just being around him made you happy and he always made you feel so special and loved. I feel so blessed to have been so close my grandpa and to have had him in my life all these years.

Though I am sad that my kids will never know him on earth, I know that he is spending time with them before sending them down to us. Thanks for being such a great grandpa! We love you and miss you!

Idaho Visit

A few weeks ago I got to spend the weekend with a few thousand of these:

Some great family

These adorable nieces/nephew

And most importantly- this new arrival:

A few of us went up to Idaho to visit my sister Ali and her family. Baby Kate was born a couple months ago and they were blessing her in church. We drove up early on Saturday morning and then came home Sunday afternoon- so a quick trip! We got to play with Kennedy, Brooklyn and Trevor and snuggle with cute little Kate! We also got a tour of the feed lot (hence the cows) and just enjoyed visiting and spending time with the fam.

*The proud grandparents*

*The cute new mama*

*Enough pictures! Let's play!*

After the blessing we went back to the house and had a yummy lunch. Then it was back to Utah! Though short, it was fun to see everyone and get away for the weekend.

Beautiful Kenny

Russell will die when he sees this post- but I had to! This pic really says it all:

But it's not as great as I'm sure seeing two pregnant women watching the Kenny Chesney concert in 3-D is. Good thing the theater only had like 4 other people in it! My friend Krystal and I had a great time just singing our hearts out along to the music and drooling over Kenny's hotness. We decided this was as close as we may ever get to Kenny- and we enjoyed every second of it!

You really can't pass up sitting in an air-conditioned theater (wearing these super hot glasses). This is a great way to see a concert!

So even though Kenny isn't coming in concert this year- we got to see the next best thing. It's probably better that he isn't coming- can you imagine us hauling our 8 month pregnant bodies to a concert in the heat? Yeah not a fun idea.

Easter

Yes I know Easter was well over a month ago but I never got around to blogging about it- so here goes!

Easter seemed so early this year- and before I knew it, it had come and gone. We didn't do a whole lot for Easter- though on several occasions before Easter I did indulge in some fabulous Easter candy (i.e. Starburst Jelly Beans and Reese's Pieces pastel eggs)

Russell and I were fortunate enough to get tickets for General Conference for the afternoon session. We watched the morning session from home then got cleaned up and headed into town for the afternoon session. We thought we had left in plenty of time and ended up barely making it in! My mother told me a fabulous place to park that was close- but gave me the coordinates wrong and sent me to an address that didn't exist. We ended having to park by the capital and walking all the way to the conference center. (yes super fun when you're prego!) Conference was wonderful and thankfully my dear husband went and got the car so I didn't have to walk back up that huge hill!

After Conference we went to my parents house for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt. I love that we still do a hunt even though most of us are older now. Before the hunt begins we assemble on the steps for a family picture:

We each had an egg with our name on it so off we went to find it!

It was a great Easter spent with family!
